Northrop Grumman seeks to support and strengthen the communities in which our employees work and live. In addition to in-kind and volunteer resources, our Corporate Contributions program provides funding to state and government accredited schools and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. These schools and organizations provide programming or services addressing STEM education, particularly engineering and technology programs, veterans and the military, health and human services, and the environment.
Grant Restrictions
As a rule, we do not provide grants to:
- Organizations whose programs discriminate based on race/ethnicity, color, national origin, ancestry, sex/gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, marital/parental status, pregnancy/childbirth or related conditions, religion, creed, age, disability, genetic information, military service/veteran status, disabled veteran, recently separated veteran, other protected veteran, Armed Forces service medal veteran or any other characteristic protected by law.
- Religious schools, colleges/universities or departments (within eligible schools) whose primary focus is to promote religious beliefs (including seminaries).
- Political groups.
- Fraternal organizations and member-based service organizations.
- Individuals.
- Athletic groups or activities, including charity-benefit sporting events.
- Charter schools*.
- Bands or choirs.
- Capital campaigns.
- Organizations providing services primarily to animals.
*Consideration for support for charter schools will be given to 1) those with open enrollment and 2) those held to the same standards as other public schools.
How to Submit a Request for an Approved Financial Contribution
Grant requests should be submitted using our grants management system and are by invitation only. You will need the one-time access information that was provided to your organization in order to apply. To apply for a grant, you will be asked to enter the organization’s Tax Exempt Number or the school’s NCES registration number, which will be automatically validated with the IRS or NCES database. You also will be required to include the following information in your application:
- Nonprofit contact name, title, address, phone number, fax number
- Brief history of the organization, mission statement, goals and objectives
- Type and scope of services offered, and the geographical area serviced
- Specific details as to how requested funds would be used
- Project budget and amount requested
- Demographic impact
- Current operating budget, including latest financial statement
- List of other corporate funders
- List of directors and/or officers and their affiliations
- Northrop Grumman employee sponsor, if applicable (name and phone number)
- Contact information
- Completed W9
